How can I change my IP Address?
How can I change my IP Address?
I do not own a router by the way.
I have answered this one more times in the last 3 days than any other question on here.
Yes, you can change your IP address, but, YOU cannot change your IP address. Does that make sense? Let me explain...
The IP address you can change with IPConfig, or through IPv4/IPv6 on your computer changes ONLY your local IP. This means when you are playing WoW with your buddies on your LOCAL network, two of you wont have conflicting IP's. It also helps when you are having router problems, but you don't have a router, so it doesn't help you.
Now, lets say you signed up for something like MetroWars, and they don't allow you to create more than one account, they they do this by logging and comparing IP addresses. Your IP address. And this is the IP address that you personally cannot change. In order to have this one changed, your going to have to call your ISP tech support department and have them change it. (Have a good reason though.)
ISPs normally hand out static IP's when you sign up. This is your home on the internet. Some ISP's allow dynamic IP's, this helps keep you protected, but the ISP still broadcasts one unique IP for your account. And all websites see these IP's. Tech support can change it when requested.
That is the only way to change the IP address the internet sees.
if your pc is connected directly to your modem - just let it obtain an IP automatically and you will be ok.
An Elite proxy completly hides your IP.
But If you want to Sign up on most of the site, You have to have use what your PC is having.
