many women don't just wear iPods, Mp3 players, and such to listen to music, but to drown out unwanted attempts at conversation from men?

yes, i do (even though i am a male) every time when i tried to teach my sister something she does not care (or want to learn) she just nod at me and listens to her ipod(with full volume) i don't think many of us (man) won't care about this. I, for one, do not care (but i do agree) everything you said is right

I don't think people, in general, assume that others don't want to converse and participate in a completely normal human interaction.

Funny, I always thought it was so you could speed up the process of becoming prematurely deaf so that it would become easier for you to ignore us.

Why would we want to ignore men? Most have such wisdom to share us.
